About

Dean Watson

Luxury swing wedding singer · Ceremonies & drinks receptions

I'm based in York and perform across North Yorkshire and the North East. Originally from Newcastle, a proud Geordie, I've made York my home since 2024, and most of my weddings are here and across the region.

The Music

Where it started

Growing up, my grandparents played Sinatra and the Rat Pack constantly. That music was the soundtrack to my childhood. I wanted to be an entertainer for as long as I can remember, and wedding singing felt like a natural fit. The songs I love, the voice I have, and a room full of people who actually want to hear them.

My repertoire draws on swing, jazz and contemporary classics: the elegance of Sinatra and Bublé, shaped around each couple's day.

On Your Day

Calm, warm, and in the background

I'm calm and warm by nature, and I like to take a back seat. Your wedding is about you, not about me. I'm there to create an atmosphere and entertain, not to take centre stage.

At the ceremony, the music is romantic and focused on the moment. During the drinks reception, it's about giving your guests the space to relax, talk and celebrate. Two different moods, both planned around how your day actually flows.

Experience

More than a decade of weddings

I've been performing on stage since I was sixteen, and I've been singing at weddings for over eleven years. In that time, I've learned that the best performances feel polished because they're planned around your timings, your songs, and the atmosphere you want to create.

Working Together

From first enquiry to your wedding day

When you get in touch, I'll respond by email and am always happy to arrange a call. I work from a set list I'm confident in, but if there's a song that matters to you, I'll look into learning it. No guarantees, but I'll always try. And if there's something you'd rather I didn't play, of course I won't.

If you'd like to see what's included, the collections on Your Wedding page cover ceremonies, drinks receptions, and the full day.
